Mayor swears in new Detective
Mayor Anita Dugatto has recently sworn in Officer Edward
Sullivan to the rank of Detective. Sullivan fills an opening in the
Detective Bureau due to a recent retirement in the Department.
Officer Edward Sullivan was raised in Shelton and graduated from Shelton
High School in 1987, and attended Sacred Heart University. Sullivan was
employed at DHL as a driver for 14 years prior to joining the Derby
Police Department in 2007.
As a patrolman, Sullivan served as the Department Training Officer,
Field Training Officer and a member of the Honor Guard. In addition,
Sullivan assisted the day shift sergeant with Local Traffic Authority,
Animal Control issues and was a certified bike patrol officer.
Officer Sullivan is a life-long resident of Shelton and lives with his
wife, Elicia, and their two boys, Jake and Luke.
