New & Old Businesses Serve as Sponsors
Hubbell's Shoe Store is 106 year's old, and it is Connecticut's oldest shoe store and a downtown Derby and Valley institution. BJ's Wholesale Club is not even open yet, but complements Hubbell's in being a sponsor of this year's race. Hubbell's provides running shoes to the winner of the race, while BJ's provides the water for the runners as well as club memberships for the raffle. The course goes by Hubbell's Main Street store on both the out and back portions of the course while BJ's new store which will be opening soon is located on Division Street. Several other sponsors are celebrating milestones this year including the Wilson Agency which is celebrating 50 years in business by sponsoring the race bibs. T-shirt sponsor Greco & Haines is also celebrating an anniversary this year - it's 40 years young this year. |
