Though the Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Race has always been more about the community tradition and honoring one of the greatest naval heroes in U.S. history, it has raised a considerable amount of money for the Lower Naugatuck Valley Boys & Girls Club. The 2015 race turned out to be a record breaker! Race committee members and Jeanne Connors of Greco & Haines, main sponsor of the race, recently met with Shaye Roscoe, Director of the Boys & Girls Club to announce the 2016 race and to present a check for $17,508.84 from the 2015 race.
Pictured above are (L to R) Tom Wilson, Carl Sylvester, Glenn Gaetano, Jeanne Connors, Shaye Roscoe, Jack Walsh, and Markanthony Izzo. Wilson, Sylvester, Gaetano, Walsh and Izzo have been members of the Race Committee from the very beginning. John Sacu, Vera Gaetano and Pam Petro, also original and current members of the Committee were not able to make the picture session.
