Across Park Place still proceeding south, is 79 Elm Street. It was built in1757 by Joseph Howell. Dr. Silas Baldwin, Derby's third physician, lived here for many years. He served in the revolution as a surgeon and was listed as one of those who took the oath of fidelity to the new nation in 1777.
