Blakeslee House

Blakeslee House

The fourth house south of the cemetery is 54 Elm Street, known as the Blakeslee House. This was built in 1712 and occupied in 1738 by John Holbrook who, with his wife, donated part of the property for the graveyard which we have just seen. In 1792, the Reverend Edward Blakeslee, an Episcopal priest and son-in-law of the Reverend Richard Mansfield, owned the house. He died in 1797.
