AARP Driver Safety Course: This refresher course is designed for drivers fifty and over. Participants must attend both days (Sept. 22 & Sept. 23). Cost: $12.00 for AARP members, $14.00 for non-members. No written tests, no road tests, no information given to DMV. Learn how to avoid driving hazards. You may save up to 10% on your present auto liability insurance. Space is limited -- registration is required. Bring a bag lunch, coffee/dessert will be provided.

Echo Hose Ambulance 60th Annivesary-Community Picnic & Concert: Echo Hose Ambulance Service will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a Community Picnic to be held Sat., Sept. 26th from 2-6 p.m. at the Shelton Riverwalk. The free event will include food, a “Touch an Ambulance” exhibit, and a concert by the Highland Rovers Irish Band. The community is invited to bring non-perishable food items for Harvest House III and then enjoy the picnic and concert sponsored by Echo Hose Ambulance.

Learn where to look for jobs, how to get the job you want, and how to search for jobs on the Internet. This workshop is free and open to the public. The Career Coach is a project of The Workplace, Inc., operated by Career Resources. Registration is requested but walk-ins will be welcomed on a first come first served basis.

Young Adult Cooking Demonstration: For ages 12 to 17. In recognition of National Hispanic Month and by popular demand, local professional chef Cynthia Opper, will once again amaze her young adult audience with ethnic techniques for preparing wonderful Hispanic foods. Samples of the finished product will also be provided. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED!
