Are There Ghosts in the Opera House?

Ghost Hunters "Reveal" Opera House findings April 20th

With the historic Sterling Opera House of Derby CT as a backdrop, Lead Investigators of the popular SyFy television program Ghost Hunters and founders of TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society) Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson (seated left to right) took a moment from taping to pose with Derby Mayor Anthony Staffieri (standing) and Derby Cultural Commission Chairman Rich DiCarlo on the right.

The Ghost Hunter’s team was in town to investigate report of paranormal activity at the Opera House and their findings were aired on Wednesday April 20th on the SyFy Channel. No apparitions were found, but they did find some odd sounds and signs of paranormal activity. The Sterling Opera House was the first Connecticut structure to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The structure has received a major exterior facelift in recent years capped by the installation on a reproduction of the original cupola.
