Middle School Students Race into 2012

Kylie Rodriguez, Jack Peccerrillo, Gabriella Prizio, and Rachel Fleischer are all smiles following a great race in North Haven.

On April 15, 2012, the Derby Middle School Running Club team captains and coaches ran in the North Haven High School PTA 5K.  Eighth grader Jack Peccerrillo led the DMS students with a time of  23:11, followed by sixth grader Rachel Fleischer at 23:52, seventh grader Kylie Rodriguez at 25:05, and eighth grader Gabriella Prizio at 25:26. Fleischer placed first in her age group, Prizio second, and Rodriguez third. 

Also participating were Running Club advisors Mike Gozzo, Jason Cebula, and Jenny Ames, all educators for the Derby Public Schools.  Cebula placed first in his age group and fourth overall with a time of 17:57.  Ames was third in her age group with a time of 24:56.
