Derby Gets a New Tax Collector
Derby has a new tax collector. Denise Cesaroni replaces Cinda Buchter who held the position for 10 years before leaving to take the position of tax collector in Fairfield. A Valley resident for the last 40 years, residing the last 5 in Derby, Denise was employed for 18 years in the health care industry including the Finance Office at Griffin Hospital and as a Patient Billing Supervisor at Waterbury Hospital. Most recently Denise served as the Administrator for the Derby Water Pollution Control Authority for 15 years. Denise recently obtained her certification as a Certified Connecticut Municipal Collector and also works as a recording secretary for various municipal boards. Denise has enjoyed being involved in fundraising events including the Jerry Lewis Telethon and raising over $9,000 along with her sister Susan for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in New York when she walked over 39 miles!
