Globe, AZ

Globe, AZ is one of those communities that actively pursued the donation of a fountain from the National Humane Alliance, but we can find no record that they actually received one.

It was reported that Judge J. F. Hechtman was working with a friend who happened to also be a friend of Lewis Seaver, of the National Humane Alliance to secure one. No other city in Arizona ad received one (and we can find no record that any ever did) and it was said that Seaver favored giving one to the city. This was in 1909 and Arizona was not yet a state.

The city's street commitee even selected a site on Cedar Street in front of city hall for the fountain. Alas, we have never found any pictures or records of a fountain ever given in the state of Arizona!
