Montgomery, ALMontgomery, Alabama is another one of those cities that we just aren't sure received a National Humane Alliance fountain. in this April, 1907 newspaper article, it was reported that the National Humane Alliance had offered a fountain to the city. The matter was said to be in the hands of the mayor for him to work with the city council on an answer to the Alliance. The NHA offer to the city was made at a meeting of a group of citizens who had organized the Alabama Humane Society that day who passed it along to the mayor. A later article in September shows that no decision had been made. Did they ever act on it and get the fountain? We don't know and have found no evidence that a fountain ever made it to Montgomery and we're hoping that someone might help us find an answer. Click here for some of the news coverage.
