National Humane Alliance Fountain

South Bend, Indiana

We want to thank Ed Talley who added South Bend's fountain to our National Humane Alliance Fountains. We had no previous knowledge of a fountain for South Bend, Indiana when Ed's message and picture popped up as a Facebook message. He followed up  with a couple of additional pictures and the physical location in front of the Charles Martin Youth Center, 802 Lincolnway West which allowed us to pinpoint the Google street view as well. The fountain was dedicated on November 8,1909. Thanks Ed!

The Fountain was dedicated in 1909 along Lincolnway West and in 1989 the South Bend Park Department donated the old fountain to the South Bend Heritage Foundation and it was moved to its current location. Click here for the story of the move which turned the fountain into the planter now in use.
