Derby History Quiz

Main Street, Derby

The picture is Main St. During the 1830's Derby began to grow as an industrial community. Many small factories and businesses such as the Plumb & Beach Woolen Company, an augur shop, a factory which manufactured pens and German silverware, and a factory where carriage springs were made were located on Main St. Eventually as time went on, Main St. became one of Derby's most important and busiest streets.
