ESPN named its top 50 Athletes of the Century in 1999. If we were doing the same for Derby, then Bob Skoronski would certainly be at the very top of the list. This Derby native played and starred for Vince Lombardi and the great Green Bay Packer teams of the '60's. His career spanned the years 1956 to 1968 and he was a stalwart tackle on Green Bay teams that won five NFL titles including the first two Super Bowl championship teams. He was a graduate of Indiana. He made the Pro Bowl in 1967 and is a member of the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame elected in 1976. Bob was also recently named to the Polish-American Sports Hall of Fame.

We had many correct answers for this quiz even though we had to forgive those who spelled Skoronski with a W. Several people had the correct last name, but couldn't come up with the first. With Gene and Ted Skowronski having great careers of their own at Harvard, we could not accept those answers.

Correct answers were received from: Randy Ritter, C. F. Douglass,  Marc Garofalo, Marsha Pettingill, Mary Lou Boroski, Tom Carey, David Neustaedter, Thomas Lenart, Jerome Fainer, MarkAnthony Izzo, Walt Mayhew, Rick Dunne, Mikey Tracz, Andrew Detullio, Steve Owens, Greg Kostrzecha, Edward Baclawski, Ron Culmo, Joe Daddio, John M. Rak, and Jamie Cohen.
