Derby is a small town that takes great pride in its past and the contributions its citizens have paid to this country's military history. Derby natives have participated in just about every military struggle since King Philip's War in 1675, the year of Derby's founding,  right up through the Gulf War. Every Memorial Day the city pauses to honor those who paid the ultimate price in defending their beliefs.
