Mayor Garofalo proclaims Maria Conlon Day as part of Derby Day 2004

Derby celebrated both its birthday and the accomplishments of its favorite daughter Maria Conlon at Derby Day 2004 which was held at the Leo F. Ryan Athletic Complex. In addition to rides, food and entertainment, the city took time out for honoring Conlon's incredible athletic accomplishments at the University of Connecticut where she recently served as the starting point guard in winning her third straight NCAA Women's Division I basketball championship. In fact, Conlon was in the final four every year during her college career.
