Halloween Parade and Party - Saturday, October 28, 2000
The winners! The Derby Cultural Commission's annual Halloween Parade and Party took place on Saturday, October 28. Costumed children (and children at heart!) gathered at the St. Mary Church parking lot on Cottage Street. The Derby Fire Police Department's bike patrol and the Fire Department's fire engines and rescue trucks guided the participants along Elizabeth Street to Irving School where costume judging took place. Mayor Marc "Grapes" Garofalo personally took the lead as the parade left the church grounds on the way to the school. Check for his amusing picture in the photo album! Prizes were awarded for several categories and age groups. Magician Brian Lizotte performed and the children were treated to a pizza party. Check out our full photo album.
