Olde Derby Day Grand Reunion Being Planned

Looking for DHS graduates for OLDE DERBY DAY GRAND REUNION

DERBY - An all-class reunion event for Derby High School graduates will take place on June 24 as part of the Olde Derby Day weekend celebration. The reunions by graduating decades will take place at the following downtown Derby locations:

Classes of 1920 to 49 at The Derby Senior Center

  • 1950-59 at the Derby Elks Lodge
  • 1960-69 at Connie's Restaurant
  • 1970-79 at Mario's Cafe 
  • 1980-89 at Chubby's Pub
  • 1990-99 at Tailgator's Bar & Grill.

Admission is free.

The gathering of classmates begins at 7pm, except for the Derby Senior Center, which begins at 3pm. Live and recorded music of the era will be provided. Alumni gathering at the Derby Elk's Lodge and Derby Senior Center are asked to bring their own food. Complimentary Olde Derby Day memorabilia will be given out on June 24 to DHS alumni at each location while supplies last. Alumni are encouraged to continue the celebration in the Olde Derby Day Alumni Tent at Ryan Sports Complex on June 25, from noon to 9pm.


Derby Day Grand Reunion Event

Sunday June 25 will feature the traditional Derby Day events with ethnic food and craft vendors, children's entertainment and games as well as a biergarden. Vonnetes will even be offering mouth watering hot fudge sundaes at their booth.

Live entertainment will feature the Country Western Music of BLACKMOON, and music of the 50's and 60's with BACK IN TIME, followed by the world famous DRIFTERS. Concluding the evening will be a fantastic FIREWORKS display to celebrate Derby's 325th anniversary.

DHS alumni events will include a gathering area by class years, a 5k road race and other sporting events to be announced. Derby Day Grand Reunion memorabilia will be available as well.
