The last show at the Sterling

The program from the last show at the Sterling

The last regularly schedule show at the sterling Opera House was "Ye Olde Time Minstrel" presented by the Lafayette Men's and Women's Club in honor of all the returning soldiers from WWII. According to a later article in the Evening Sentinel, the theatre had not had a regularly scheduled program for 10 years, and hasn't had one since though there were many special performances before the entire building closed in 1965! There were many familiar Derby names in the program which you can see by clicking here. You can also see more performers and committee members by clicking here.

Our thanks to Dan Santoro who shared this program from his father "Trapper" Santoro's collection. Trapper also appeared in this show!.
