Private Swim Classes Now Available

The Derby Veteran's Community Center is now offering private swim lessons for children and adults. The lessons cost $20.00 per 30 minute session. Registration may be made by calling the Center at 735-4222.

The Derby Veterans Community Center was established as a permanent monument to Derby's veterans. It has been a cornerstone of Derby City Hall since its construction in the 1960's. The Center underwent a major renovation in 1999, including a complete remodeling of the Health Club and the installation of state-of-the-art equipment as well as a new whirlpool. In addition to the health club / exercise room, the Center includes a pool, sauna and gymnasium. It is open to the public for use on a daily basis, or yearly memberships may be purchased.

On July 1, 2000 the Center became part of the city's Parks & Recreation Department. The move allowed for increased staffing and programming while maintaining the Center as a permanent monument to Derby's veterans.
