Future use of the Sterling will satisfy the civic needs of the city and region, fulfill the original intent of the structure, and restore an architectural monument of historical significance to its rightful place.

The first floor will showcase municipal offices - such as Aldermanic Chambers and the Mayor's Office - in their historically corrrect locationoverlooking the Green. The lower level provides added space for city offices or retail leasing.

All mechanical systems throughout the structure will be replaced and the building will be upgraded to meet modern fire and safety codes. where feasible, walls, woodwork, floors and windows will be restored to their original beauty.
