General Overview

Graphic plans have been prepared at a scale of 1" = 100' that illustrate the Conceptual Master Plan improvements for Derby's outdoor recreation facilities. These concepts reflect the current conditions of the fields, the current and future demands of the athletic programs, and the cost associated with the proposed improvements. The study focused on three sites: Derby High School, Bradley School, and the recently purchased Reservoir property. Three concepts have been developed for each site, i.e., A, B and C. The scope of work shown on the concepts range from simplified site improvements to a more complex reorganization of the study sites. The concepts represent potential use of each site and are available for discussion purposes with the Parks and Recreation Committee.

The three alternatives for each site have been summarized into the enclosed matrix forms. Each matrix highlights the major concepts and site improvements required to achieve the proposed layouts for each site. The chart shown below summarizes the quantity and type of fields shown on the concepts for the three sites and compared to the existing number of fields at the High School and Bradley Elementary School. For example, Concept Matrix 'A' highlights improvements at Derby High School, Bradley School and the Reservoir property and how all three sites relate to the entire outdoor recreation system in Derby. The matrixes for concepts A, B, and C are detailed below.
