What kind of equipment do we use?
Here at Seymour Volunteer Ambulance, we have the ability to provide up to an intermediate level of emergency medical care to our patients. This includes pulse oximetry, IV locks and lines of normal saline, and also medical control for our EMT-I's
and EMT-D's to use MAST and AED's. Most all other surounding towns can only provide a basic level of care to their patients, which means if they need to utilize skills like Pulse Ox. or starting a line, they need to have a paramedic aboard. We, on the
other hand, don't need a medic for such skills, thus keeping them available for other emergencys.
