The Anna L. LoPresti School, originally built in 1914 with additions in 1925 and 1980, currently houses students in Kindergarten through grade 6. The LoPresti Elementary School is a neighborhood school where there is an excellent mix of both experienced and newly prepared teachers. The parent groups, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) and the Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), work to achieve our vision developed by polling teachers, students, parents and other members of the community.

An effective curriculum provides the basis for a well-rounded education for all students. The development of basic skills, abilities, attitudes, appreciation and specific knowledge is planned for at each grade level. At Kindergarten and grade 1, beginning concepts are introduced and taught as a foundation. At each succeeding level, new concepts and skills are introduced and previous material is reviewed and reinforced. Our early childhood programs provide developmentally-appropriate learning experiences in which children can succeed thus strengthening each child's sense of self-worth and independence. The following subjects are taught in grades 1-6: Language Arts, Reading, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Health, Art, Computer Education, Music (vocal and instrumental) and Physical Education. Course curriculum in all areas is constantly being evaluated and refined. A well supplied library enhances the regular school curriculum and introduces students to a wide range of stories and learning experiences.;

Parents and other members of the community are always welcomed at the Anna L. LoPresti School. For further information, feel free to contact the school by calling (203) 888-2009. Your comments and opinions are always welcomed!
