Young Adult Advisory Board
Meeting: For patrons 12 to 17. Attendees are encouraged to voice
their ideas for improving and expanding Library services offered to
young adults. We provide an environment of active and creative

Guided Self Assessment Clinic
on Fall Prevention: Seniors and caregivers are invited. Presented by
Regina Demitrack, BSN, MPH, Director of Community Health and
Wellness, from the Visiting Nurse Association of South Central
Connecticut. This program is provided through a grant from the
Greater New Haven Community Foundation. Risk factors for falling and
prevention strategies will be addressed. Attendees will be able to
complete a personal assessment of their own risk for falling and
learn about ways to prevent a debilitating fall. Space is limited. Registration is
required! |

Trap Falls Kennel Club Responsible Dog Ownership Day:
Trap Falls Kennel Club (TFKC) fun filled, action packed Responsible
Dog Ownership Day (RDOD) on Saturday, September 12, 2009 from 9:00
a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Shelton River Walk, Shelton,
Connecticut. Event starts with a Parade of Breeds and will include
fun dog contests of best kisser, best tailwagger, AKC Sanctioned
Obedience and Rally matches, sports demonstrations that range from
Canine Freestyle Dance by Top Hats and Tails to Police K9 work,
Canine Good Citizen testing, Micro Chip Clinic, vendors who offer
pet products and services,and a Kids Zone. Prizes raffled throughout
the day. Parking is located at the corner of Cornell and Canal
Streets. Admission is FREE to the public and their pets. All dogs
must be on a leash. Mixed breed dogs are welcomed. |
