The City of Derby's Parking Authority is responsible for the parking facilities in the City. The center piece is the 310 space indoor Municipal Parking Garage located on Thompson Place between Elizabeth and Olivia Streets. The Parking Authority is in the middle of a major renovation project that has included improved lighting, security and maintenance. A new center island booth has also been installed to allow for more convenient and safe transactions.

The Municipal Parking Garage is open Monday through Saturday at 7:00 a.m. On Mondays and Tuesdays it closes to new entries at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday vehicles may enter until 10:00 p.m.. On Sundays and holidays, the garage is only open to monthly pass holders only. Monthly card holders can access the garage at all times.

There is a $3.00 flat fee for parking from 4 pm until closing

Senior Citizens pay $1.00 for all day Garage parking.

Monthly parking is also available for $50.00 - old rate was $45.00.

On street parking in the downtown area is metered, and is 25 cents per 20 minutes (old period was half hour) up to a maximum of two hours. The meters will only accept quarters.

Municipal Lot

Located behind Main Street between Caroline and Factory Streets

The Parking Authority is also responsible for metered parking in the downtown area and it maintains a second municipal lot behind Main Street which holds an additional 100 vehicles.
