Texarkana, AR

Texarkana, Arkansas received its fountain in 1909 and it is believed that it was originally installed near the federal courthouse in the downtown area. As with many other communities the growth of automobile traffic made the need for the fountain negligible and the danger from increased traffic made it unsafe. For a time it was moved to a parking lot on State Line Avenue and West Seventh Street. It's official address is 701 Walnut – Northwest corner of Walnut and East 7th. The fountain is not currently working, but there is a group looking to get it back in operation.
