Paugassett's Donate Firemen's Trophy

Tom Hope wins the inaugural Firemen's Trophy

Derby's Paugassett Hook & Ladder Co. 4 has been working with the Shelton Fire Department for years to drape the huge American flag from their ladder trucks in the middle of the Derby/Shelton Bridge portion of the race course, but this year they decided to present a new race award. They will be presenting a trophy to the fastest fireman participating in the race. This year's winner is Tom Hope who is a member of Shelton's Huntington Company #3. Tom finished fifth overall with an impressive time of 17:23.
