The next house south is 19 Elm Street which was built by Joseph Remer c. 1830. Mr. Remer was a selectman of Old Derby in 1869 and was an important businessman in the area. This house is a fine example of the Greek Revival style of architecture, popular throughout the East at that time, and has Victorian additions.
