City Officials Still "Running"

Mayor Mark Lauretti

Representative Jason Perillo

Police Chief Joel Hurliman

Board of Apportionment & Taxation Leo DiSorbo

Mayor Mark Lauretti headed the list of city officials from Derby and Shelton running in this year's race. Mayor Lauretti holds the distinction of being one of only 31 people who have run in every race. Leo DiSorbo a member of Derby's Board of Apportionment & Taxation is the only city official in Derby who can make that same claim. State Representative Jason Perillo also ran in this year's race as did Shelton Police Chief Joel Hurliman.

Lauretti was joined in the race by four other members of his family, and Perillo's wife Becky also ran in the race.

Who was the fastest city official? The title this year goes to Representative Perillo who finished in a quick 22:56 time, good for 90th place in the finishing field of 571. Mayor Lauretti finished next with a time of 24:17, but family bragging rights went to son Nick who had a blazing time of 21:28.
