Irving School Gets New Playground

Irving School parents and friends made a dreams come true for students on the west side of Derby when they constructed this bright new playground adjacent to the parking lot on the side of the school. The modernistic play area provides hours of safe recreation for students of the school and the surrounding area. The $23,000 playground project was made possible by the fund raising and "construction" efforts of the Parent Teacher Organization. They raised $13,000 in addition to a $10,000 grant from the Sate of Connecticut.

The playground sits an an area that is approximately 80 feet by 120 feet. It joins an existing playground serving the east side of town at Bradley School.
