The sandstone building constructed in 1891 was donated by Caroline Phelps Stokes in memory of her parents. Her grandfather was Anson Phelps Stokes, the founder of Ansonia. The library has a local history room reflecting the founder's love of horses.

The Derby Veterans Community Center was established as a permanent monument to Derby's veterans. It has been a cornerstone of Derby City Hall since its construction in the 1960's. The Center includes a pool, health club / exercise room with sauna and whirlpool, and gymnasium. It is open to the public for use on a daily basis, or yearly memberships may be purchased. Though the City provides partial funding, the Center is governed by its own Board of Directors, and is not part of the Parks & Recreation Department.

152 acre park, complete with scenic waterfall, and splash pool launch along the banks of the Housatonic River. A ramp is available for boat launching onto the 5 miles of excellent canoe water between the park and Stevenson Dam. Hiking is also available on several wooded paths. The Paugussett Trail leaves the park through the steep woods, and later joins with the Pomeraug Trail near Stevenson Dam. Picnicking with a view of the river is especially enjoyable, as is fishing.

This antique auto restoration facility is housed in a 30,000 square foot building. There are between 50 and 100 antique cars dating from 1905-1960s under restoration at any one time. The visitor may observe metal shaping, woodworking, painting, engine building, car designing and automobilia. The facility features Amelia Earhart's Franklin, Ricky Nelson's Lincoln Convertible and an automobile that belonged to opera singer Lily Pons.
