Electronic Valley Named One of the State's Top 50 Web Sites

We don't like to brag, but since Connecticut Magazine has done it for us, we couldn't resist the chance to point out that they selected The Electronic Valley as one the "The State's top 50 Web Sites" in the April 2000 edition of the magazine. Click on their links to learn more.

The Electronic Valley is just one of the many initiatives of Healthy Valley 2000 which is a community-wide effort aimed at improving the health and quality of life of residents and the community by making the Valley a better place to live, work, raise a family, and enjoy life. Officially launched in October of 1994, Healthy Valley identified communication as an important issue and set out to develop an on-line presence for the entire community.

The Electronic Valley committee took its cue from sites developed for Valley United Way and the town of Oxford by John Joy of Joy Associates who has served as the Webmaster, host and technical advisor for the project since its inception. The committee expanded those early sites into a volunteer driven project that now fully embraces the five towns of the Lower Naugatuck Valley - a community that was an All America City finalist in 1999 because of volunteer efforts such as the Electronic Valley.

As you take time to "surf" the Electronic Valley, please remember that this is still a volunteer project and the hundreds of pages and thousands of images that you will find have all been developed by people who care very much about this special area of Connecticut that we call "The Valley."
