This
chart shows the cost of the proposed plan including the new high
school, the existing high school renovated to a middle school and the
athletic facilities within the Ryan Complex. The base cost is shown at
the top. The rest of the chart shows the additions made to the base
plan by the committee resulting in the final figures at the bottom.
The actual costs to taxpayers in Derby reflects the amount that
residents will pay after the state share is subtracted from the total
cost. (May 2: These figures have been broken
down into two questions for the referendum ballot. The ballot
questions contain higher figures because of the costs of short term
borrowing and fees connected with the bonding. Click
here to see the questions.)
It
should be noted that new construction is reimbursed at a higher rate
than renovations. The athletic fields are reimbursed at half the rate
of the school construction.
