Richard Stoliker set a course record and Lauren Flament repeated as the Women's winner in this year's Commodore Hull Road Race. The weather was just about perfect for running, and Stoliker took the lead right from the start and was never seriously challenged on the way to a winning time of 15:39 which broke Jeff Roginielewicz's 2003 record of 15:44 by five seconds. Former two time champ Tim Milenkevich was second with a time of 16:19. Jack Pinho finished third with a time of 16:38. Fourth and fifth place went to last year's winner Bobby Giuliani and 2002 winner Mike Padilla. Padilla's win came in the very first year. Flament won for the second straight year with a time of 19:48 which was 6 seconds better than runner-up Jennifer Gampel. Emily McNeil, the winner in 2013, was third with a 20:03 time. Katie Flament garnered a fourth place finish at 20:50 and Sara Zuba rounded out the top five in 21:15. A total of 653 runners finished the race this year. Safeco Honors Wilson Agency, Benefits B&G Club
Tom Wilson of the Wilson Agency in Shelton is one of the founding members of the Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race and also a yearly sponsor of the race. Safeco Insurance has now recognized Tom and the Wilson Agency with its Make More Happen Award which honors independent agency partners for their community involvement. Most of the time Tom does his work quietly in the background, but on race day he becomes the voice of the race as he handles the starting and finishing line duties. Brother Charlie has also been involved with the race and has done the live streaming broadcast of the race. The real beneficiary of the Wilson Agency's community involvement is the Boys & Girls Club which is receiving a Safeco check for $3,500 and you can see Tom presenting the check to Shaye Rosce above her her son Declan holds the framed Safeco Award Certificate while race committee member Glenn Gaetano looks on. Mobile-Ready Race Results This Year
The Race Committee was pleased to have FastTrackTiming back as our official timer again this year and they added a smart phone app and near instantaneous results to the app and to a new web page. We've always taken great pride in getting the results on-line as quickly as possible after the race, but there's nothing faster than their new service, and we look forward to having them back next year. We're down to 17 who have run in every race. See who they are here. Directions to Canal Street Shelton, CT
